After rolling into Seattle, we had a little time to grab a bite to eat after checking out our friend Kimberley's art studio outside of town (which was amazing!) I booked down the street looking for a Vietnamese restaurant which didn't look so hot so ended up going to the Mai/Chuck and venue soundman-recommended
Boom Noodle. In short, I win. Buckwheat soba noodles over a spinach salad topped with smoked wild king salmon and tossed with wasabi, tempura flakes, and shiitake mushrooms. It was an off-the-menu compromise (the usually serve chicken or shrimp over the salad, but I had a craving for salmon...)

I was assured by the waitress that I had ordered her favorite thing on the menu and was rewarded with a refreshingly delicious meal. Great balance of all of the various ingredients combined with very well-made soba noodles. The salmon was plentiful, smokey, and easily flaked off to make every bite better.
The guys checked out
Piecora's, a pizza place across from the Chop Suey (our venue for the evening) that served up some of Seattle's best pies. Here's a shot of their "Sweet Italian" pizza with sausage, peppers, and onions:

After the show, were were planning on hitting up a Seattle late night/early morning staple, the
Five Points Cafe, but we ended up there the next morning for a breakfast of pure comfort food. Another Chuck/Mai recommendation (thanks again!) they make their own corned beef and their corned beef hash was anything but the usual mashed meat surprise. Big pieces of flavorful meat with a great texture - comfort food like it should be!

Also - here's a shot of the BLT we also ordered - mmmmmmmmmm bacon:

Bonus points to our waiter who would bring out full pump-pots of coffee to help us wake up so we could drive to Portland - thanks Five Points!
