Jonny's Food Blog - Dim Sum in San Francisco - Ton Khiang

After a long drive from Portland and a great show at Slim's we didn't get that much of a chance to enjoy all the tastes of San Francisco, but I was able to squeeze in a quick stop at my favorite dim sum place, Ton Khiang, for some dumplings and egg custard rice cakes to go.

My cousins Mo and Jason turned me onto this place when I came out to visit for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival - it's on Geary at 22nd and it rules. They have some of the best potstickers and dim sum I've ever had (and I love me some dim sum.) Although, I had to take it to go, I was still able to enjoy the balance of pork and cabbage and the chewy, lightly-fried dough. Also, I'm used to eating egg custard filled rice cakes at room temperature after gorging on a full dim sum meal, but these were hot and it brought them to a whole new level - this is indeed the way to order these and as usual - Ton Khiang didn't disappoint.
